Vitamin C and Retinol

Vitamin C and Retinol are two powerful skincare ingredients that deliver complexion transforming results.  Used as part of your skincare routine, the combination of these two ingredients can visibly help improve fine lines, increase skin elasticity and target the appearance of dark spots and uneven skin.

Visibly improve skin tone for a rejuvenated smoother, brighter complexion.

Benefits of Vitamin C

Known for its brightening and radiance boosting properties, it’s a must have step in any daily skincare routine.

Vitamin C is a super powered antioxidant, which aids skin regeneration and repairs damaged cells, while protecting from environmental aggressors, such as pollution and sun damage. It helps improve skin tone, boost radiance and support collagen for increased elasticity so skin stays plump and more cushioned.  It also helps decrease melanin formation and can help prevent hyper pigmentation as well as treating existing pigmentation.

Benefits of Retinol

Retinol is the powerhouse for a smooth, plump, even and firm complexion and is a great addition to any skincare routine to amplify results.

It’s a form of vitamin A that is known for its anti-ageing properties. Retinol helps stimulate cell turnover, boost collagen production, helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and enlarged pores and helps target dark spots and blemishes. Its important to use a daily SPF when using any retinol as skin can experience increased sensitivity to sunlight.

Tips for using Retinol

Start slow-If you are new to retinol you may experience some mild irritation. This is due to skin acclimatizing. To avoid this, we advise using it twice a week to begin with for the first two weeks. Gradually increase use and build up to using 5 times a week for optimum results.

Always wear sunscreen-Retinol can increase skin sensitivity, so using a daily SPF is important to help protect against premature ageing.

Hydrate-You might notice skin gets drier when you first start using retinol. We recommend you follow with a nourishing moisturiser such as our Overnight Repair Night Cream or Cellular Repair Night Cream for optimum hydration.
